Ryan Hecker has been playing drum set for over 20 years, performing with such artists as the French Horn Collective, the Henry Mancini Orchestra, Clint Holmes, Ira Sullivan, Shelly Berg, Jamie Ousley, and many others.

Ryan Hecker has performed with Slow Burn Theater Co., Stage Door Theater Co., the University of Miami Theatre Department, and others in such productions as The Drowsy Chaperone, Titanic, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, In the Heights, Oklahoma!, Hair, Legally Blonde: The Musical, and more.

Ryan Hecker has studied latin percussion with Edwin Bonilla, Persian classical percussion with Reza Filsoofi, and Eastern European percussion with Errol Rackipov. Genres that he has performed include charanga, candombe, taiko, rumba, salsa, samba, world beat, Iranian classical, Bulgarian traditional, Afro-Peruvian, and others.

Ryan Hecker has performed art genres such as free jazz, concert percussion in both traditional and contemporary classical works and designed sounds for foley art,  electronic samples, and mantra music. He also builds custom musical instruments.

Ryan Hecker has been a primary percussion instructor at the University of Miami Young Musicians camp for the past three years, teaching areas such as Stomp bucket drumming, jazz history and theory, and world music.
